Assette
Assette helps institutional asset managers turn their data into client, sales and digital communications. As its UX Engineer, I built the design system that the whole product now rests on.

The problem
The Assette UI had grown inconsistent and lacked a structured design foundation — similar screens behaved differently, and each new feature added more variation.
The goal: one unified design system with documentation the product, UX and engineering teams could all work from.
Method
- Built a UI inventory from screenshots of the existing product.
- Grouped screenshots by similar template appearance.
- Designed one common template to represent each group.
- Explored a few variations of each new template.
- Reviewed and verified the templates with the team.
- Finalised the templates.
- Designed and built the components using atomic design.
- Created design documentation.
Tokens & components
A full colour scale for every hue (100–900), named colour tokens, and a component library documented with specs. Because I also reviewed the interfaces engineers built, the system was tested against real implementation, not just the Figma file.
